What we need
A PROPOSAL FOR THE MINISTRY CENTER, SAINT LUCIA, WEST INDIES
THE ASSOCIATION OF BAPTIST CHURCHES OF ST. LUCIA
The Association of Baptist Churches has established a sports committee to develop athletic programs in order to address Social needs among island churches. It is incumbent upon us to provide the best facilities and platforms for our youth to showcase their talent and in the process embrace values critical for moral and spiritual development.
A parcel of land is identified on which to construct a Ministry Center. Despite the enormity of the need, the Association of Baptist Churches of St. Lucia lacks the funds with which to realize this goal. We are, therefore, appealing to anyone who would be willing to make a contribution to assist in this most worthy venture. We would appreciate it if you would forward this e-mail or blog address to as many friends as possible. The Ministry Center will be constructed in three phases.
Phase I:
Educational wing which will provide much needed post secondary education to persons in St. Lucia and the region at large. Our people are in need of quality educational and leadership
training.
Phase II:
Athletic wing will serve as training ground for "at risk" youth as well as an enormous evangelism tool.
Phase III:
Camp ground - an invaluable vehicle to get children off the street into meaningful and challenging year-round programs.
In August 2006, over 80 young boys attended weekend football clinics that Dr. Morgan, a former United States Youth Soccer Coach, conducted in Vieux Fort. Since, there there is a demand for these clinics.
Future Plans:
Interfaith competitions
Inter-island competitions
International competitions
Who will run this center?
The Association of Baptist Churches of St. Lucia will assume custodianship of the property as a representative of participating Baptist Churches. However, a board of directors will be appointed to assume responsibility for the running of the ministry center.
